Farm Practices
Our herd is fed a mix of pasture and free choice hay. Their diet is supplemented with a ration consisting of oats, corn & minerals.
We keep them on an annual schedule of deworming & vaccinations, and we work closely with our vets to ensure our animals are happy & healthy.
For the safety of ourselves, our vet team and our animals, we remove the bull's antlers prior to them becoming aggressive during rut.
Our herd is CWD Certified under the CFIA's Herd Certification Program
15+ Years under Regal Point & since Dec '23 under ourselves
Where does their feed come from?
Not only are we growing elk, but we're growing their food too! With the exception of oats, everything our herd eats is grown right here on our farm.
Our herd's nutritional needs change depending on the season, but whether it's antler growing bulls, pregnant cows or recently weaned calves our animals always have access to what their body needs.
