Our Herd
Then & Now
All 40 members of our starter herd were born & raised at Regal Point Elk Farm in Wiarton, Ontario, where for 20 years, antler-producing genetics were prioritized. Many in our herd are siblings to or sired by industry legend, Silver Star, while others can trace their lineage to Styx, Super Star, Levi & Colt 45.
As of Fall '24, our herd consists of 2 breeder bulls, Riker ('18) & Smoke ('21), 3 yearling bulls ('23), 35 heifers/cows ('12-'24) and 17 calves ('24). Our long term goal is to grow our herd to approx. 100.
Land & Pastures
We are raising our herd on the farm that has been in Reg's family for 4 generations, This land is made up of several large pasture areas for the herd to roam, rest, play and graze while the rest serves to grow their food. Our pastures have been designed to incorporate the property's natural landscape consisting of trees, ponds, small hills and plenty of grasses to hide in & eat. ​

​General Elk Facts:
-Elk are gregarious, which means they are highly social and prefer to live in a group
-Another name for elk is "Wapiti", which originates from the Shawnee or Cree word meaning "White Rump"
-Their canine teeth are commonly known as ivory. Elk ivories are made of the same material and have the some chemical composition as tusks on walruses, wild boars and elephants.
-They are the loudest members of the deer family
-Elk can live to be over 20 years old
